Senior Researcher of Walk Again Project gives lecture at XIII SEMATRON

Approaching the theme on which he works daily in research and experiments in the AASDAP laboratory, Senior Researcher of Walk Again Project, Solaiman Shokur, addressed an audience of 150 students at the XIII SEMATRON – Mechatronics Engineering Week, held by the School of Engineering of São Carlos – USP, on May 25th, at Jorge Carton Amphitheater, in the University premises.

Entitled “Brain-Machine Interfaces Based on Neurorehabilitation and Sensory Substitution for Patients with Complete Paraplegia”, the lecture discussed techniques used during training with volunteering patients of Walk Again Project, which resulted in the clinically evidenced improvements in the article published by the Scientific Reports magazine in August 2016.

SEMATRON, considered the largest event in the area of mechatronics, held its 13th edition, from May 22 to 26, 2017, promoting an exchange of knowledge and bringing the academic community closer to the new technological concepts through lectures, courses and monitored visits to companies in the field.
